Small Survival Pack (pics)

All you need is to trade that Gerber for an RC knife! ;)

Yep, I need me an RC-4 for this kit for sure. Just gave away my RC-3 so I'm RATless atm :( Besides, keeping it in the Jeep with southern humidity all the time the Gerber is a Blade I dont mind ruinin.

Waiting on the RC-6 like a kid at christmas though :D

Nice kit, bro! Well organized and put together.

There ain't nothing wrong with that Gerber knife ;)

There's plenty wrong with that knife!

Why, I bet that thing doesn't cost nearly $600, I'd bet real money it's not made of INFI, . . .er, wait. . .wrong forum. . .

I'm using my hiking backpack right now. Had a Maxpedition Versipack but just didn't really like it. I've got a new bag on the way I'll post pics if I end up keeping it. I buy and return bags a lot trying to find the one that works best for me.

Camelbak's hydration system bags are awesome. 1400-1500CU is enough for 24-36hours worth of a trip. Holds a bladder and comes in 'camo' color that still appear very civilian. I love mine. You do have to replace the reflective shock cord on the outside though. Only costs another dollar or two.

I was checking those CB packs out recently myself. Never had my hands on one but I really like the way they look. How's the contruction / stitching?

Between Maxpedition and Jansport. I would consider it high quality stuff.

I have the Rim Runner. It was a toss up between that and the Alpine. Both very similar, the Alpine is just a bit bigger. I'll get some pics of my Rim Runner up soon.

The back padding is the best feature by far. They have everything cut out around your spine and provide a ton of ventilation. VERY comfy. I don't know that my larger Mountainsmith 3200cu bag will get much use this summer.

You kit looks great, and personally I have a Gerber AND a Kershaw in my kit, and neither has let me down. I dont have a RC because it would be HIGHLY frowned apon in my work place. I carry a CountryComm BOB in my car, and it is ready to go, but it is based around ARES usage. Will try to get pics at some point.

Some really good info on kits and such at: www.wildsurvive.com Couple of excellent article written on it, plus tons of posts with pics. :)

When I get home I will try and take pics of my kit and list it out for ya.

Cheers!

What!!! A RC knife frowned upon because it looks to mean! :D :D

Be sure to post up some pics of your kit. We're all kit junkies around here :)

I carry a RC3 at work every day and no frowns, just clowns wanting to play with my RC3,I tell'em buy there own...but I am a nice guy and let them test it out...
