One of my Equalisers. 4inch blade, O-1 carbon steel flat ground, convex edge, edge quench, chisel ground sharpened clip - can't be seen its on the other side. 800grit satin hand rub, polished clip and spine. Small brass double guard. Handle of burgundy rosewood Dymondwood, mortised, mated with invisible seams. The sheath is carved leather with a adjustable / detachable retention snap. The blade shape was designed WITHOUT the "dropped edge" commonly seen on such patterned knives, to prevent hanging up on a cut. Not sure if you'd call it a boot knife but its about that size. about 9inch OAL.

Also on my site - http://www.jcbknives.com

Jason, you have got to stop putting that dot after the link to your web site. It links to redskins racing instead of your site.

I really like these small Bowie inspired personal tacticals and this is a very nice example. The handle looks very ergonomic and the blade looks more utilitarian than most of the others I have seen.

Yep, I agree with Keith (don't ever recall disagreeing with Keith) - that's a very useful-looking design. I like the rosewood handle and that's a really terrific sheath to complete the package.

Cheers,

Roger

Awesome knife, but lose the brass. That same knife with nickel silver would be so much nicer(and this one is sweet as it is).

I'm with Danbo on the brass thing, but brass or no, it's still a great looking knive. Flat ground gets me every time.

Have to disagree with you guys on this. If it was in a black/darker handle material, the contrast of the NS would be great, but the wholeness (a real word, cos I said so!) of this knife screams warmth & security. & nickel silver would be a discordant addition.

Great knife Jason, & at last I get to see the great stuff you've bin making courtesy of your Redskins Racing website;) :D

I've finally gotten around to getting rid of the dot after the website address - too excited when I'm posting !!!! The blade shape was a similar design to one I made for one of our military folks - no "dropped" edge to hang up, curves all round, a full length 1-inch long choil for the finger if you like that sort of thing. In fact, the design worked well enough that I no longer do the dropped edge thing. I use a contoured rounded choil now.

Just checks my emails, I think that ones now spoken for. Waiting for confirmation. Thanks for the great comments and ideas. I just got a batch of 416 stainless. Wil do some SS guards now. I don't have a personal preference about guard material. I do a few with black Micarta too !! The military guys like it. But if you want something shiny ...

Cheers.
