Hey guys here is another kwaiken I just finished up. It was actually a cut off piece from a larger kwaiken that I still need to finish.
I normally would have chucked such a small piece, but this one kinda spoke to me.
It has an epoxy soaked hemp wrap handle, and polished hamon.
I gave it a shorter, more traditional length handle as well
This is the first time I have used 1095(Aldo's), and only the third hamon I have tried. I am very pleased with hot it turned out.
I also tried out my new etcher and stencil. I will still use my makers mark periodically , but with a name as unique as mine, I might as well use it!
It is about 3/16" thick at the spine. The OAL is 8 7/8", with a 5" blade.

I have to thank Ryan Weeks for posting up his hamon process, it helped me out a lot. Thanks buddy!

I am sure I could, I have never done one though.

Turned out great. I have been wanting to do something similar but have some ideas for wood and stingray in a more americanized handle I guess you could call it.

Nice hamon, did you have a link to the thread on making it. Would like to give it a read thru (may have already cant remember).

got this yesterday.
masterful to say the least.
it will make an excellent christmas gift for the wife.

Great Marc, let me know how she likes it!
