Small VS Large Inkosi

Been using my Small CF Inkosi for about a month now. Great urban EDC. Thinking about ordering a large. Ive seen members on here who have upgraded from the small to the large but not the other way around. For those of you that have owned both, has the large kicked the small out of your pocket?

I still carry both. Typically, I carry the small to work. Most non-work days I carry the large. I am definitely keeping both. Great combination for me.

Not for me. The small is large enough for my daily everyday tasks. If I know I'm going to be doing something specific where I need the large like today I will carry both. I will say after holding a large it makes the small feel smaller, but I've always EDCed a smaller knife so. I think they both have a place, but I can say I've never felt under-knifed with just my small. I am very glad I decided to get the large though. I THOUGHT it was too big when I first got it, but after giving it some time it is growing on me.

Is there a noticeable difference in "fit" with regard to the finger grooves? I know the small fits my hands well and while I think that would mitigate any concerns about moving UP in size (vs. the reverse), I don't want to assume. I have medium hands.

As usual I have a more complicated answer then is probably necessary, but alas, here is my take on it.

If you were going from a large to a small then I would say yes. If you are going from a small to a large I would say no. Here is why.

Even though it doesn't look like it, The lines were created at the same angle since I didn't line them up properly for the picture, then I just went back and brushed over the top hence things look a little janky.

Essentially if your pointer finger fits the small, you can see about how much room it will cover inside the scale on the large. Your middle finger goes into the next groove and the size of that groove is exactly the same on the small and the large.

So as long as the small fits your hands, I think the transition to a large, grip wise is fairly similar. In reverse, just because a large fits your hands, doesn't necessarily mean a small will, because of the smaller groove for the pointer finger.

I hope that helps.

I have a large KA and a small TNK
Both are great
I have the small with me during the week when I go to work and I take the large during the week end
The small is good enough for any light EDC tasks
I like the large for its full size grip but it is actually more than I need for EDC

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.

Please excuse me for butting in.

I have the same questions as you nickj79, thanks for the questions.
Have another question. How does the large Inkosi slice compared to the small? I know the large blade is thicker.

IMHO it is a tricky question
I would' do say they are both cut almost the same
However I think that because the grind and the blade length are different it may be some different feelings
For a large blade the large Inkosi is a good slicer (compared to zt0562 for example)
For a small blade the small Inkosi is not as good as a sliver as a small griptilian or a Delica 4
So even is the small and the large are comparable slicers the may feel different due to their different size and ergonomic

I would add that is my small edc I carry the small edc most even if it is not the best slicer
