I'm looking for a 3" range blade that I can get a Kydex sheath for for casual pocket carry. I think I've narrowed it down to the Game Warden and the SAR-3. There are thick Game Wardens (.27") and Thinner ones (.17"), and the SAR-3 looks to be .16". I'm leaning towards the .27" Game Warden, one because it appears to be one bitchin' slab of Infi, and two seems like it would be virtually indestructible - like I could pry my door open if I forgot my keys (I wouldn't forget the knife). It doesn't have the exposed tang for smacking heads, but at 3" seems the perfect length. Any comments on the +/- between these three? Any drawbacks to that thick blade? Sure looks cool.

I'm just sayin, I love my SAR 3. I've batoned with it so if you're having doubts about it's indestructability, I'd forget about it.

Plus you can still get a SAR 3 realitively cheap, especially for a nuclear satin finish blade while game wardens have been out of production for a while and have a higher cost.

I have a couple of GW's and SAR's but none of the really fat thickness'. They feel different in the hand but the blades are very similiar. Both are great knives and it really comes down to the look and feel that you want. SAR 3 LE would go nicely with that new 4. Just sayin
