Any idea when we might see a downsized Caly 3, or another similar knife from Spyderco?
I'd pick up a smaller Caly 3 in a flash.

Materials were different but the Kopa is basically a smaller Caly 3, Urban would be another candidate, if you can live without the lock.

I remember Sal saying something about an Urban-sized Caly was in development.

dkpk - one of their best :)
 I get the impression he's looking for a more compact package. Aside from a slightly shorter blade, the DKPK is the exact same size as the UKPK and virtually the same size as the Caly 3. All three take up the same amount of pocket space.

G10 Dragonfly would be the closest, unless you want upscale variant, than as Paul said, Kopa. It is discontinued, but I saw couple days ago Blue Pacific bone at great price. PM or e-mail me if you interesting.

Thanks all. I have a Kopa but looking for a knife between the size of the Kopa and Caly 3.
Sal has said that this is in the works in a prior posting. He mentioned a smaller Caly 3 and in another post mentioned a new knife with a blade of 2 3/4" - I hope that we see these soon.
My Rookie is pocket friendly, but I am interested in a new knife with a 2 3/4" blade.
I am tempted to go to work on my Rookie with the belt sander....

Wouldn't the discontinued Caly Jr. have been a down-sized Caly?
Well, yes and no. The C52 Calypso Jr. could be considered a "down-sized" version of the C54 Calypso, although the opposite may be true (C54 as up-sized C52). Really depends on which was conceived first. However, the knife being discussed here is the C113 Caly 3, which is virtually identical in size and shape to the C52 Calypso Jr, rather than the C54 Calypso.

I managed to make my Rookie a "non-weapon" by taking 1 mm off the blade length - it took a few minutes on the belt sander, followed by 4-5 minutes on Spyderco stones and a strop.
I would still like to see a Caly 3 with a 2 3/4" or 2.8" blade and a shorter handle. It would be a perfect edc with a 95 mm handle length.
Meanwhile, I'll have to make do with the newly fixed Rookie and some other knives with even shorter blades.

I'd be interested in a smaller Caly3 also. I've already got the FRN and G10 Dragonfly and really like the shape/size of the Kopa but prefer basic G10 or similar scales since I'm not into all the pretty bone, wood or metal scales.
