I had a Joytech eVic that ran off an 18650. It worked for me but was too long with a tank. Could someone recommend me a something more closer in size to a Surefire E1 vs a Surefire E2? Variable voltage selection is a must. Possibly something that runs off the 16340 I use in my HDS 200 lumen light.

If you were interested in a variable voltage, variable wattage unit with internal battery, the Innokin VV may be worth a look. I have one of those and it's a great sleek unit and holds a charge for a long time. I also have an innokin MVP mod and it's awesome but probably bigger than what you are after man.

Just bought this yesterday. VV battery, 2 bottom coil tanks, and one dropper of 18mg Marlboro for under $80.

The Itaste vv/vw ver 3 are awesome. I had one for a little while and I went the more MOD route and I gave it to a buddy that was trying to quit. He uses it everyday and he loves it too. I had it for about a month and he has had it for about 3-4. It is still going strong, he has to charge the battery tword the end of the day but what do you expect for a 650mah battery. There are some 14500 mods out there but of the ones I have tried they don't work that great. I have not seen an ecig designed around the 16340 yet but that would be cool mediul size package in between the ego size and the 18650 size.
Edit: if its length you worried about and not the width you can get 18350 battery tube for your evic and it will make it a lot shorter.
