Wondering about smaller knives. I have all different sizes and types of knives, but have found the smaller EDC, gents folders are my favorite. I am looking for recommendations on knives to add to my collection. Specifically mid techs and customs. But higher end production knives are welcome as well. I have attached a pic of my smaller folders, and have a quartermaster mr roper and another bionic and ss version 3 on the way. Thought about a tecno as well, but want some customs to add to the collection. Thank you. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1399940791.617045.jpg

Nice collection RAAM. I would look into a custom from Alan Davis, he makes some really beautiful and functional liner and frame locks. You might also want to check out TA Davison for custom traditional style knives. Both these gents make some beautiful pieces.

The Techno is a nice knife, but I would go with a Spyderco Chaparral instead. Same steel, lock back, super thin, and comes in CF and Ti slabs with some really fancy machining, the details are very cool.

William Henry also makes some beautiful knives in that blade size, button lock, aluminum slabs, inlays of various materials, very nice.

That collection screams for a William Henry E10 or Atlas.

I'd also recommend you look at some of the better traditionals such as GEC or Northwoods. Although once that obsession kicks in you may never go back to modern folders.

William Henry B12 Atlas with a 3" blade of ZDP-189 laminate (67 HRC) that is razor sharp, titanium handles, button lock and weighing just 2 ounces.

Rod Olson Quick Flick CF or LSCF flipper with a 3" blade of RWL-34 (like ATS-34), titanium handles, button lock and weighing just 3 ounces.

Nice collection! I love the Snakewood Mnandi (I think that's what it is). While not high-end, you might want to consider a Dragonfly. And maybe: A Three Sister's Forge CCT, a Benchmade 707 or an AG Russell Acies2.

I'll be watching this thread as I really prefer the blades under 3".

Oooh.....love that Rod lOlsen flipper!!!!! Been looking into wh as well, are they fairly durable? Not going to baton with them obviously, but some look more like jewlery than a knife......they are so beautiful.

I love the Mnandi as well...the snake wood is great, the nice thing is the pocket lip looks like a pen, great for the office!

The Rod Olson Quick Flick flipper is my favorite carry. Small, tough and smooth. No issues with button lock. In looking at your collection and as long as you like or prefer flipper and are not against button locks it may become one of your favorites too.

WH B12 Atlas may look too nice but it's quite capable. Blade is rather thin so it's a great slicer. Very classy.

Those two are the ones I carry most often along with the CRKT Eros for extra light carry while in shorts. I like titanium. :)

Another excellent one is Spyderco Chaparral Stepped Titanium and the price has come down a lot:

I don't have any pics yet, but was recently given a William Henry E6 as a gift, and it's extremely nice and ridiculously light. I've never been a coated blade fan, but it's part of what makes this knife so elegant...just works so well with the black handles. Nice, thin blade of D2 that slices very well. Just wish I had a Mnandi to make a comparison pic with...

Here's the William Henry E10. Cocobolo inlay, D2 blade, aircraft-grade aluminum body, button lock, buttery smooth action, light weight... just a gorgeous knife.

I now mostly carry traditional slip joints but I still pair them with this. It lives in my pocket.

As well you should, RAAM. It's quite simply the finest flipper I've ever encountered. There's a reason for that, by the way. The thrust bearing system Rod uses in his Quick Flick was developed by Brian Tighe.

I'm also a big fan of WH knives. I've got three of them including a GenTac and an E10. They are superb cutting instruments . . . embellishments aside.

Sold on that idea....if you ever decide to sell or trade the quick flick let me know....great looking knife! Thanks for the suggestions so far. Hopefully we can keep this going I am sure there are more small edc folders than just William Henry

Well if you ever come across a Laconico Slim EDC, don't hesitate. If it manages to last for the blink of an eye, it won't be there on the second blink.
