Smaller knives?

We've seen great options for big blades lately. Does ESEE have plans for smaller knives? While the Izula is already small at 2.88", any plans for a 2.5" blade for the restrictive markets like Chicago, Boston and all Federal land and buildings?

2.5" blade? that is tiny! not sure if there's much of a market for that. the izula's handle length is just about the shortest i can tolerate to comfortably use longer than a few minutes. maybe grind down an izula to a 2.5" blade?

shouldn't be too hard to shorten one. wrap the handle & blade in soaking wet cloth then use a belt sander. occasionally dip the whole thing in a bucket of water to make sure the heat treat is preserved.

In those restrictive markets you describe, usually a fixed blade of ANY length is also not kosher. Best off sticking with a folder that is 2.5" or shorter.

Hell yeah 2.5 inches is plenty of useable blade-and nowadays Federal buildings won't let you take a Swiss Army Knife Classic in there, the VA hospital and office downtown won't let you in with any knives period. The Buck Paklite Skinner is one of my favorite small knives and it comes in at 2 7/8, there are plenty of cool bird and trout knives out there, the AG Russel Woodsman, the Bark River Bumble Bee... for a slicing blade, 2.5 inches is PLENTY big.

As many different small survival kits as ESEE offers it kinda interests me they don't have an altoids tin or keychain style knife out yet... There are a few custom ones out there but they're usually asaninely expensive.

Could be a good idea if the handle length was maintained. That way the scales could be used across both knives. This weekend my Izula rode around in my right front packet and was used from everything from cutting branches to chopping potatoes. The only downside is that I had to remember to leave it at home when I left since I live in California and a fixed blade is an issue. Pretty lame since my folders are significantly larger.
