Smaller Laguiole style folding knife?

I just looked at a Laguiole knife at my local store the other day, and it has me thinking about a purse knife for my wife. However, it looks like the smallest they come is about 9 cm which is about 3.5 inches. Here in Michigan, blade length laws are kinda fuzzy, but under 3 inches are definitely ok. The one I saw had all wood handle scales and some nice file work on the blade and the backspring/spacer. Any suggestions?

William Henry makes smaller, decorative knives. Here are a couple, all blades under 3":

Winkler knives are definitely beautiful, but not exactly what I was looking for. Also WAY out of my budget. Here is an image from the Laguiole website as an example:

I have a small laguiole, 3.125" blade, blonde hornj handles. (Not for sale :)) They do exist.

Le Thiers Chambriard Compact. 2.75" blade, elegant French shape, filework, available in wood, etc.

Yeah the Chambriard Compact came to mind for me as well. ^

I am not sure if they actually make a smaller laguiole but there are the "toothpick" style knives which are quite similar. They come in all sizes and from multiple manufacturers.

Looks like Forge de Laguiole makes 7 cm and 9 cm laguioles. the 9 cm one has a 3 inch blade. The 7 cm ones have 2.25 inch blades.

The cutleries that make Laguioles always made (and still make) small models. I bought two of them successively for my girlfriend a decade ago. Very neat little knives. The blades are still around 2" 1/2 and the very strong, almost locking slipjoint could be frowned upon in Michigan.

Hmm, maybe I misunderstood the measurements. The 9 cm is the size of the handle, not the blade? Maybe I can just get the Laguiole that caught my eye. I'll have to scour for deals, I guess :)

Laguioles are usually identified by the size of the blade (not closed length as in the US). Can't measure the blades of my girlfriend's knives as she's an ex but I'd say they were not longer than 7 cm. Fontenille-Pataud is a renowned cutler (specialized in Laguioles) and his website is available in English.

The site I was looking at earlier identified them by the length of the handle (7cm or 9 cm) not the length of the blade. Be sure to check the numbers before you buy though. I do kot know laguioles that well. I have seem laguiole en aubrac and fontenille pataud ones in the wild and the quality was quite nice.
