How about a smaller/lighter light infantry hawk for those that like to pack light? Perhaps a 1 lb. head?

The Rangers Poll Hawk is on the way; it's going to be a plain ol' tomahawk, no hammer face or spike. It promises to be lighter on its feet than the others. There's a pic posted somewhere in here, so if you search you can see what it looks like.
 
I don't think so . . . but Andy and Bobby might've made some changes, and they've probably got new stuff up their sleeves, too. Best to ask the bosses.

Aside from which, in my experience, it hasn't got to be flat to hit with.
