Hi all,
I guess the survey I completed for a knife company a couple of months ago came with a "prize". The smallest knife I've ever seen...A SOG Fusion. LOL! This thing is so tiny, but hey it's free so I guess I'll be keeping it. Just thought I'd share. I'll try to get some pictures up later.

Congratulations! So far, I haven't been so lucky :grumpy:. After a hard minute/30 secs of filling out my Q and hitting send, I eagerly awaited my reward. Months passed. When my Fusion never came I thought all hope was lost :(, grew bitter , drank to excess :p , ignored personal hygiene  and otherwise went on as usual ;). Your experience has inspired me. Maybe I can start staring at my mailbox once again. :D

So when I go get a new memory card and take a pic do you want to see it or would it send you over the edge? LOL! That's a great response.
:D

Picture!!! Not a great picture, but a picture.

That is a great picture. I am inspired to go buy one, to go with my County Comm ARES light. :D

Thanks! On a side note, I love that light. It scared off a rat for me the other night when I was walking out to the dumpster in my apartment building parking lot. Whew!

I've got a couple of the clip-ons, too, and since I gave a few away around the family, I bought a half-dozen more of them for my daughter to give to her friends.

Now that we know they scare rats, I bet I get flooded with requests.

rats are rough on the dumpster crowd
but they make nice pets when they're clean
get the ones in the white lab coats
and people won't know what they are, and scream
(check with the landlord to find out
if children and pets are allowed)

LOL! You might. I'm trying to convince my boss to get a bunch of these lights for the nurses at work as "thanks for the hardwork" type gift. Plus, I wear one on my badge and the nurses use them all the time during assessments. I started wearing mine because they are doing construction on our hospital and they keep shutting off the power during my shift. That little light of mine comes in quite handy.

I like the clip-on, even though it costs a little more. Clipping it to my collar means I have a perfectly placed light for exactly the sort of uses you just mentioned, and it's hands-off, too. I've even found it's handy sometimes clipped to my watchband or a jacket cuff.

Finally, proof that someone has actually gotten their survey knife!
I had just about given up hope. Shipping of these was supposedly going to be wrapped up by the end of May if I am not mistaken. This is the first I've heard of anyone actually receiving theirs.

My Utili-Key is getting mighty worried right about now.

I had forgotten all about this until I checked the mail today. I was surprised. I have no idea if I'll ever use this thing, but it was free and it fits on my keychain, and it's so small people will still ask me "what is that?" ;) It's interesting, that's for sure. Hopefully yours will come soon.

Indeed.
After seeing your picture there, I've been digging through some tackle boxes looking for the largest split-ring I can find in anticipation. I don't suppose it comes with one? Looks like it would sit a little funky without.

I e-mailed them earlier this week and the woman replied back saying that they had around 13,000 surveys filled out. She claimed that was way more than anticipated and the knives are still being made/shipped. I guess we all just have to be patient. Personally, I can't wait for mine!

Yes, it would go better on the keyring if I had a split ring. I guess they are coming. I hope so anyway.

Yea, I figured this would have been the case. The link to that survey plastered all over the place, even in communities that have nothing to do with knives... and then there were the "free stuff!" websites.

A few weeks after the survey closed they sent out an email, April 2nd if memory serves, that shipping of all of the knives would take about 60 days. That would put it, yea, right about now that people should start expecting them, assuming they didn't ship in waves from the get-go.

I have you beat...I have the knife that came with my GI Joe Storm Shadow back in '84! Sweet. I've been fighting the urge to get one of those stilletto switchblade keychains. Of allt he knives in my collection...none get more use than the little Utilikey that came in the package with a Swiss Tech multi-tool I got for Christmas years ago. Its opened countless letters...boxes...carved my name a few times...cut some rope...taken apart cell phones...pagers...unscrewed countless screws...you name it...this luttle bugger is useful as heck...and no one ever has a clue that its a knife. Its made it through countless " weapons screenings". You would have to take a very close at it to tell that it is indeed a knife. I've given them away as gifts a bunch of times. They always later told me, "Man...that little key thing you got me is awesome!"
