Smallest pen I've seen.

I took the 'forums advice and went to Staples to buy a Fisher bullet pen (with pocket clip). Being a typical forum gadget freak I wandered around the store looking for something else to blow my already extended finances on, and guess what! I found something. There on a standing, revolving display up front was the "Micro Pen". It's made by Cross (always liked their pens). This pen is just big enough to hold a Croos cartridge but it is still retractable. Measurements: Length= 4 inches, diameter=0.18 inches(that's not a mistake). It does not have a pocket clip, but has a small plastic tab where the pocket clip would normally be. This tab gives you a grip so you can twist the body to extend the pen tip. The short metal sleeve that conceals the tip unscrews, but the cartridge doesn't feel like it can be removed and replaced. I didn't want take the chance of ruining it at the time. If this is true it is a major drawback, as the price ($12.98) doesn't justify its purchase. But if you need the smallest possible pen, this one might be worth it. As with all the Cross pens I've had It writes beautifully. You can see it at Cross' website. Oh! also the top end is a PDA stylus.

Mith.

I have the Micro Pen and the pen refill is definitely replaceable. You just pull it out after unscrewing the bottom section. The pen fits great in my Palm Vx. The only thing I miss is a reset pin. I really like the rubberized gripping surface.

I love my Fisher bullet pen but I'd buy one of these little Cross pens in a minute if I knew it would never leak. Anyone know how Cross pens are in the regard?

I FOUND a Cross Ion pen on the sidewalk while leaving my local Post Office last week, and although it's a pretty cool little pen, when I noticed it laying on the sidewalk I couldn't figure-out just what the heck it was and almost passed right by it.:).

Those ION pens are awful.

I took 2 classes this summer and bought the ION so I could stick it on my keyring and forget about having to remember bringing a pen to class...it wasn't smooth at all and the ink was inconsistent, and completely ran out before the end of the 6 week semester.

If you are looking for a small pen, check out the Fisher Stowaway. It is built around the standard fisher space pen refill and scarcely larger than it, so you get performance in extreme conditions. It's not refillable, but that cartridge lasts and lasts compared to a Cross refill, and at $10, it's not very expensive. You can get them at REI (www.rei.com).

padhraicdrakonchik,

Why did you find it necessary to post the same thing to 6 different threads on pens? Real smart.

Thank you kindly. :) You should also be aware of the dates of the original posts as well as the date of the last post. If it is more than 1 year old interest in the topic has pretty much died and there is no need to dredge up dead threads. Welcome to BFC, btw. :D I suggest reading the FAQ's page to get a feel of how things work around here.

I was in Office Depot the other day. I found a Zebra pen that expands. When you use it, you can pull it out to full length. To store on my Brite ize pouch it shrinks to half the length. It also has a steel tube to protect the tip. Best of all, it was on the clearence asile. 2 for $2.00 with two refils.
