I recently carried a tiny cheap Chinese knife (gr5-605)for a month. I loved the size(1 7/8" blade,5 1/4" open, 3"closed)and decided to get a higher quality edc approx this size.
If I go spyderco looks like a lady or man bug size. But I have to have a pocket clip!
Which I guess means dragon fly 2? I was also considering the techno but both or these are a bit bigger than I wanted.
Any other ideas? I've seen the dragonfly but does the techno carry like a small knife? Also the blade shape on techno didn't look like it could pierce much.... For my sole everyday carry I need a blade that can pierce, Slice and have a little heft for heavier use.... That sanrenmu was great but I pretty much had it falling apart in 30days...anyways guys what should I do?

The dragonfly is a great little knife and cuts like a big blade. The pocket clip on it is vey secure also.

I can't recommend the DragonFly 2 highly enough. It is a fantastic knife - very compact, but it has great ergonomics, fits in the hand well, and cuts like a much larger knife. Plus, you can get it your choice of several different steels - VG10, ZDP-189, H1 and soon, SuperBlue.

There is a sprint run Spin out currently.
I don't believe the Nishijin Spin Sprint has been released yet, and buying the all stainless Spin is somewhat risky, unless you are VERY familiar with how the real ones look, because there are some fairly hard to spot fakes out there. OTOH, among current production knives, the Balance and the Cricket would be the two smallest.

The chicago is a pretty small knife 2" blade i believe. If you would rather have a liner lock than a back lock like the dragonfly.

OK I found the sprint run on preorder for $90.I think I'll grab a dragonfly to hold me over.Generally am I better off to preorder or might I save a few bucks waiting for one to hit the exchange?

I think the Toad is the smallest that has ever come with a clip, although the Mouse is a close second.

If you can't find either of those, then yeah go with a Dragonfly/Chicago. Both great knives for a great price.

is that a dragonfly, mouse, and toad in the picture? Is the toad a liner lock? I've heard that the build quality on the the chicago can be spotty . I'm going to start looking for these 2 smaller models ,which I had never heard of (probably a bad sign for actually finding one) This help has been awesome! Any chance I can see those with the blades opened?

okay I got it. Don't worry about the pictures with the blade open, I found them on Google image search. I also found a mouse from blade tech?(no experience with them) With aus8 steel.. I wonder if that knives any good. it's from the same designer that did the spyderco. It's cheap and readily available...hmmm

nevermind that cheaper Mouse does not have steel liners on its frn handles and I need at least a medium duty edc knife so I'm going to skip that

Yeah the Toad is a linerlock. And I have a Cat, which is the brother to the Chicago and never had any problems with it.

Top one is a Delica. The Spin is smaller than the Toad I do believe.

Looks like the Toad is smaller overall, at 4 inches OAL but the Spin wins out with more blade length, with 10mm longer blade, while only being 3mm longer overall.

Don't have a Toad anymore, but FWIW, here's a shot of the Dragonfly, Mouse, Cricket, Balance, and Spin.

I know where you can get a Spin for $60. Not sure if that is a good deal and they aren't a paying dealer so I cannot mention their name.
