Gents,

Two questions:

1. - Most knives with convex edges seem to be large and it seems that it is not common to find convex edges on shorter length knives. Why?

2. - Anyone know of folders with convex edges?

Thanks,

Slim

Not folders, but Bark River's small blades are convexed.

The Bark River Micro Canadian is convex and the blade is 2" long. I wouldn't go any shorter than that personally.

I convex all my knives even ones i've made as small as a 1 1/2" blade. This is a knife with a 2 1/2" blade full convex grind and edge.

Fallkniven's U2 folder has a convex blade. (Sometimes the very edge is V'd.)

Bark River's Mini Canadian has a 2 1/4" convex blade. It's like a slightly bigger Mikro Canadian but with a choil to permit a four finger grip. I love mine for edc pocket carry.

My No. 4 and 5 Opinels are convex. Both blades are pretty small -- less then 2 and 1/2".

I convexed the blades on my Schrade Peanut. The longest is sub 2" now, and the smaller one is below 1".

There's a small Fallkniven (WM-1) with a convex edge, lots of small Barkies and Opinels, which have already been mentioned.

Great Eastern Cutlery is making some GREAT folders with convex edges.

Convex by me

And the happy byproduct of the convexing process was the elimination of the blade etch :D
