Who makes 'em? Not immediately in the market, but interested. I know Gary Bradburn is on hiatus for the time being, I've seen only one by Mike Yurco on Bladeart (does Yurco have a website?).... anybody else? "Affordable" ideally means $125 or less. Thanks.

Thanks Chiro 75.
Anything a little shorter, and less $?
Also, did not see prices listed on Michael's website...?

I pretty much specialize in small knives, so drop me an email with some ideas about sizes and I'll talk prices with you, too. Email is spotty over the weekend, so if you don't hear from me right away it's not because I'm ignoring you!

This light little utility knife is made by Shinichi Watanabe. The steel is aogami or Japanese blue steel hardened to around RC64. The blade length is 6 1/4". His website is http://www.watanabeblade.com/english/. You can contact him through his site. Your order will take 2 to 3 weeks to fill. On the downside, you will need to provide your own sheath. I'm going drag out the leather and make one for mine over the weekend. Take care.

...there seems to be a nice Japanese-wrap styled blade "First Strike Tanto"by Steve Corkum & manufactured by CRKT.It doesn't mention the steel however and I hope it's at least AUS-8 not the 420J!BTW Steve Corkum seems to have a less then sterling reputation as a knifemaker/businessman on this forum.Luckily, you're in the U.S where you obviously can get much better selection at a far better price.

This Cold War terminology is freaking me out. Is there also a "Massive Retaliation Tanto"?

Interesting... BTW, the cord wrap is much more akin to a type of cord wrap on Chinese dao :D.

Neat knives there though, I've heard good things about Ranger Knives... was planning to pick up a few sometime...

..available 3 inches(Second Strike?? ) instead of 4-5 inches (doesn't say) looks good but post has pique my interest enough to visit H.of K. and to examine them more closely(and do some bargaining). If older production run with good steel & workmanship, might be worth getting. ;)

I think Burch is one of the best values going, his Hamons are very nice and his prices are still relatively low.
