I want to get a small Spydie for my watch pocket. Sometimes I dont want to haul out a large folder in a crowded space so I was thinking of getting one of the wee ones for discreet cutting jobs.

I've narrowed my preferences down to Cricket, Spin and Lava...

Which is the most comfortable to use given the form factor?

My brother loves his Cricket. A dear friend loves the Dragonfly. Choose wisely, Humpie.
:p

The Lava and then the Spin are the best to grip. (Dragonfly is good also.) The Cricket has a good enough grip for the kind of precise, light work it generally get used on, but other people will either see it as cute or as weird.

Personally, I think the Cricket is one of the all-time greats.

The Cricket is a sweet little knife, but it can be a bit of a chore to sharpen. The Spin is nice too, but my favorite small Spyderco is the Ladybug. The Ladybug is a great design- and is enough knife for probably 90% of the everyday tasks that require a blade. I think of the Ladybug as a contemporized Case Peanut.

Another great small Spyderco, that I highly recommend- is the Bug. I wear mine around my neck on a dogtag chain, and it gets used all the time. For around 5 bucks, there's no reason not to give a Bug a try.

You shouldn't rule out the Leafstorm, I hear that it was designed for the watch pocket.

Rolf, you been going online when everyone's asleep again? :D

I dig the Cricket to be sure..... the Lava is very elusive and quite pricey.

The Spin is also intriguing - nice ergos on that handle.

I guess I will see what turns up for a good price. Unfortunately, it is always the bottom line that has the final word these days.

MicroDyad. is my current watchpocket EDC.

I've also been known to carry a Lava, Cricket and Poliwog.

+1 Dragonfly. Get the FRN in SE, won't feel the weight and it cuts like there's no tomorrow.

Only minus: SE rips those envelopes.

OK, say its the Cricket then - PE or serrated?

I admit I am strongly biased towards PE. Do serrations add anything to a small blade like this?

What about the bug?

But seriously, the cricket is a great knife. I prefer SE for such a small knife as even if you dull it, you can still tear through stuff.
