So,

TK has that article about the Smersh 4.

And I want one.

Any Russian Members that can help with this?

Reputable online dealers?

Private Purchase?

I really do not want to pay retail.

This knife catch anyone else's eye?

Yep, I read the article. I kinda liked the Smersh 5 (with the guard), myself. I have no other info, though.

Except, as I recall, "Smersh" is an acronym for "schmert spionam," or "death to spies." It was the name of the Soviet counterspy organization back in the bad old days.

I learned that from James Bond. :)

The have several Russian blades including folders and the Smersh 4 and 5 models.

What really caught my eye is the OSA-4 and the OSA-C folders:

Javier, thanks for the link! Nice knives.

Transliterated, the lettering reads "komandos"

The other offering are pretty cool.

I especially like the look of that push-dagger. But, since I cannot read cyrillic, I don't know what all gadget functions it serves.

I like the 5 too, but what does "it's not cold steel" mean? I take it that some "tourist" quality steel is used. That doesn't sound good, whatever that means.

I talked to the importer and they said the knives haven't even left Russia. No price has been set yet. The price will be determined when they actually see the initial shipment in person.
I am sorry if that isn't what you wanted to hear. It wasn't exactly what I wanted to hear either. I have a standing order for any new knives they bring in. Not knowing the price puts us all at a disadvantage.

Marion, I saw the same article, and wanted one as well! The company listed with the article is Master Cutlery in NJ, here's their website. They will be carrying them when they arrive here in the US. http://www.mastercutlery.com/
