Smiley's and other options

When I reply to a topic I am not seeing an option to place smiley's in the text area. I have smiley options at the bottom of the screen but I think those are for the post as a whole and cannot be inserted in the text area. There are no smileys available to the right or left of the screen.

I don't have any options for "Bold, "Italics", etc. either. I think those are supposed to be at the top of the screen but there are none there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Click "go advanced". everything should appear there.

Nope. Still the same thing. Only smiley's at the bottom and nothing anywhere else.

I'm thinking that his browser may have some security (like no-script or similar) that may prevent certain features from working properly. He may have to "authorize" this site.

Well, that eliminates everything I know about fixing computers. Except Ctrl-Alt-Delete, but I don't think that applies here.

I hate to be a pain but I just cannot figure this out.

I tried listing bladeforums as a trusted sight but that didn't work. I also tried to enable some other stuff in my security but I don't remember what those were. None of them worked.

I use smileys and the other features a lot on other forums and no problems if that helps.

I know all I have to do is click on something. I just don't know what it is.

I would be absolutely dancin' in the streets and very grateful if someone could help me figure this out.

Any computer whizzes out there that would be willing to give me step by step instructions?

Go to your User Control Panel, Edit Options, scroll down to Message Editor Interface. There are three different message editors here; you may have accidentally changed to a different one.

Nothing takes effect until you click the Save Changes button at the bottom.
