Anybody got one of these what do you think of it. Is it a good design etc, thinking about getting one any thoughts or observations welcome especially from owners. Thanks:)

They are generally disliked around here. I was looking at getting one recently but decided to spend the $30 on something else. Do some searches and you'll find out that they are generally regarded as poorly made...

S&W knives are made by Taylor cuterly..'roud here that is CCC (Cheap Chinese Crap) so forget asking :D I have no S&W's in my stash but from what I've seen at the stores I'd agree they be s**t.

I've got a powerglide. NIB it's very sharp, and the model I've got is numbered, and says "1-5000" or something, which originally excited me, but supposedly that's what they all say. :( Anyway, it's an interesting knife design, but definitely not a knife I'd carry or use much. The handle's very uncomfortable, and if what benchmademan says is true, it's very very poor, though I haven't noticed the stop pin problem on mine.

Another clue... QC is so shoddy that their products are not even consistent in their design flaws!

Steer clear of S&W knives, and spend the same amount of money on a CRKT (a step up, depending on which model you choose), or better yet, a SPYDERCO!!!

Edit: Matter of fact, get into Benchmade with that money. Check out their Red Line knives, which can be found for ~$30 - $40 on the web. Especially look at the Monochrome (Benchmade framelock for $30???) or the PIKA.

Peace.

Look into the Byrd knives from Spyderco, they cost around 20 bucks- so alot less money for a vastly superior product. Also the kaBar Doziers are a steal.

I have to agree with most of what everyone else said.

I wanted one for a while and picked one up on sale about a year ago. It was a disappointment, it's bigger than I thought, clumsy and uncomfortable to hold. There doesn't seem to be a right way to open it smoothly. I can't say that overall it's constructed poorly, the materials seem ok, but the design probably looked better on paper.
Mine was dull OTB, but I was able to put a pretty good edge on it. I've never used it, so I can't say how well it holds an edge.
