I have a Smith and Wesson knife that belonged to my grandfather and I just wanted to ask a few questions about its origin. First, I see that it says USA on one of the blades. Who made these knives for smith and wesson. Also, it says first production run on the other blade. What year was this knife made? Lastly, are the grips real antler or imitation?

I’m having trouble posting photos from my iphone, the options are a little different from other forums I’ve visited.

If it’s the trapper .... this would of been the first order Heritage Cutlers received for production in 1998 of 5000 prices with parts supplied from Camillus and yes the handles are real stag...
Search Colonial, Old Cutler or Robert Anthony Paolantonio.

The stockman also real stag was produced in 1995 and more than likely from Camillus.
