I see a lot of advice about great hawks, almost to the point of being overwhelmed.

Anyway, in doing research on manufacturer's sites and several forums, a name that came up in other places but not in BladeForums.com is the Smith and Wesson Escape and Evasion blah blah hawk. Has anybody got one?

The reasons I'm considering it are its easy availability from amazon.ca, and it's all steel construction - an important one because I tend to really use the hell out of my knives.

Thanks for your help

A friend purchased one for use as a breaching tool. I don't think it's been put to the test yet. My thoughts on it-just from handling it- Good design, appears well made, the only drawback for me is portability. This beast is heavy, real heavy for it's size. I have an RMJ Shrike 13 I carry for that task.
If you can get over the weight it might fit your needs. Then you can be the sole Bladeforums evaluator for the E&E Hawk and pass on the info.

These are ridiculously heavy and ridiculously bad edge geometry. If you're getting it as a breaching tool, go for it. If you're looking for a cutting tool, you will be disappointed

I keep coming back to this as a toy for destroying things the only thing putting me off is the price in the UK I am being quoted 85 to 105 pounds. Given the positives mentioned I may just save my pennies!
