I recently acquired a fixed blade knife. It's bone handle, brass end and bolster, and its a fairly high carbon steel. The stamp on the knife has the name Smith inside a picture of an anvil. Can anyone identify this knife's maker?

Don't recall him offhand, but he was a 70's, 80's maker from most accounts.

We can't discuss value, but I will say that if you like it, keep it. The knives of his I've seen were well made, but in general knives from older, somewhat forgotten makers, don't sell very high.

Thank you. This is literally the first forum/ blog site I’ve ever joined. I didn’t know protocol. You confirmed what I sort of thought about the knife. I’m keeping it. Coincidentally, I don’t live far from south haven. Thanks again for the response.

I know this is an older post, but this knife was made by my Dad. John T Smith. It’s so cool seeing stuff like this where people are discussing my Dad and his knives. ❤️
Do you have any of your Dad's work???....😉......Be nice to see em..👌
