Smith & Lansky

Are Smith's Diamond Precision Knife Sharpening System & Lansky sharpening system Compatible? They both have options that the other doesn't. It would be great to combine them. But I don't know if they are.

Should be ok. The stones that come with the Smith system are better than the Lansky, wider in this case.

Yeah I wonder if they attach at the same point thus making the same angle. I pretty much like the smith better for everything except the Lansky has more angles. So I am thinking about just getting a Lansky Clamp.

Couldn't you just drill all the holes you want?

I like using the DMT aligners with the Lansky blade clamp. The exact angles aren't THAT important. Never tried the Smiths.

Just got a smiths and love it. I like that the stones are wider than lansky but I think lansky might have one final polishing stone above smiths. I am not sure due to lansky not labeling their grits.. jerks
