I was justwondering ifthis is a good knife. It is one of the most bought knives on amazon and it has gotten really good reviews. The specs are nice and 2.8 oz for over a 3 inch blade is great. Does anyone have this knife and if you do is it worth 10 bucks?

Mystery steel, partially serrated, and tanto blade: three things that would make me say "pass" on this knife.

I would pass. Save up some more money and buy a really good knife (Spyderco or Kershaw). The quality can be felt everytime you cut something ;)
Trust me (I'm not a used car salesman either) lol

Depends. If you want to use it, then no. If you think it looks cool and want to collect it, go for it. Its only $10. If you want some thing to use, buy a buck bantam for $15.

I own 1 Smith and Wesson, gave my other one as a gift, they're not bad for what you spend, but nowhere near par to my Spyderco Delica or Kershaw Chive, if you want something that you can beat on and not care if it breaks then i think it would be ok, but if you're looking for an EDC, go for a Spyderco, Benchmade, Kershaw, Buck, CRKT or something of that sort.

I agree with tyronethepro. Smith & Wesson's aren't bad for how low priced they are.

But, If you want a good knife that won't break the bank, check out the spyderco byrd line.

I would recommend it only if it's your first knife. It was mine, and the sheer horrible-ness of it caused me to seek out better options.

Pros:
Lightweight
Looks cool if you're into the design

Cons:
Mystery steel
Combo edge
Black finish will scratch easily
Jimping on the spine is very smooth and slick
Handle is too small for my hand
No loctite (like me) = blade rubbing against the handle
Can't be taken apart (body screws spin)
Locked, the blade can be closed with minimal pressure unless flicked open (see pic)

Remember, you're judging its popularity off of the number of Amazon purchases. Mall ninjas galore.

I have a ck112s. it looks like the same blade but a different handle. if you want a knife you can beat the shit out of, drop, scratch, potentially lose? then i would say hell yes. if you are expecting benchmade or spyderco quality for 10 bucks think again. I bought mine at a gun show well over a year ago for 10 bucks because i was tired of beating the shit out of my benchmade 556s (older version in 440c). i have carried and used this knife every day since and it has no signs of slowing down. it doesnt have the edge retention of 154cm or anything expensive but it sharpens easily, i reprofiled mine a bit and maintain a mirror finish on the edge with a home made strop of leather i got from a belt maker (rough side up) with green compound.

as far as durability and reliability of the liner lock, last time i had to replace a couple of tires on atvs and my truck i used this knife to stab and slash a big hole in the bad truck tire (i wanted to make sure the genius at the tire place didnt remount the bubbled tire) and i used it to cut the tire off of the atv rim (all but the steel belt at the bead) the knife held its own very well and didnt flinch at the task

If you can get past the mall ninja-ish handle design its a pretty good knife on a budget, that being said, another benchmade is in my future when i have some free cash

p.s. as far as the image above, the liner lock on mine has never had this issue and when engaged reaches all the way across touching the opposite side
