Smith+Wesson Knives made by Mtech?

So I'm in the market for a real cheap folder that I'm not afraid to junk around. I start looking at some of these S+W knives that are running 30-50 dollars.

Then I see some of these Mtech knives that look the same (some of them EXACT) as the S+W ones, for about a third of the price.

Now, I know Mtech is famous for knock-offs on others designs, but doesn't Mtech manufacture S+W knives, and that's why they look so similar?

I guess I'd just like to know if S+W is charging me 40 bucks more so I can carry around a knife that has their namesake on it.

Holy Jesus. Why would you ever consider an M-tech or an S&W when you can get a perfectly good Buck 110 for around $20? Or get an Opinel. A freakin box-cutter would be better than some POS M-tech, or... God forbid... even a Gerber! You might even find a Spyderco or Kershaw, for around $40.

Someone should find the S&W / M-tech distribution centers, and level them.

(Sorry for the rantings. I seem to be more prone to them as-of-late.)

You might want to consider one of the KaBar Doziers. For about $25, shipping included, you'll have a good knife.
