Hey I just got a couple new knives and one that really stood out to me was the Smith & Wesson M&P Reverse Tanto.

So I'll get straight into it...

http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&productId=83949&tabselected=over&parent_category_rn=30801

Pro's:

*Solid Grip
*Metal Alluminum Handle(but not heavy or bulky)
*A/O blade(which for me is a pro)
*A decent steel at 4034(granted not the best)
*Reverse Tanto blade(kick butt Look and usable)
*Blade Lock on side of handle(kind cheesy lock, but works ok.
*Window Break Stud On Butt of knife
*The overall look and feel is amazing.
*Solid like the Benchmade Barrage, but $50 cheaper.

Cons:

*It is imported, so that kinda sucks
*The switch that opens the blade, mite be kinda cheesy, have to use it awhile to see.
*Could be a better steel, but not the worst.
*Non reversible clip

Overall, this knife is a beauty. Is solid, and opens with power. One that looks and feels like you could run over a few times and be ok. Deffinantly a work knife. I'd Recommend...

Thanks for reading a first time poster :-)

I'm also a fan of the Smith and Wesson M&P series. I have the first knife in the seris which has a drop point blade. Personally I don't really have any complaints other than the fact that the knife isn't made in America.

I've purchased and gotten rid of a number of S&W's. Now I've pretty much given up on the line as being basically worhtless. Still amazes me S&W would allow their quality name to be put on these knives.

However, I do have an M&P and have kept it. Has an interesting "look". Fairly solid.
Flip and safety do seem a bit iffy and I doubt they would stand a lot of use.
Not a bid little knife for the money (but a kershaw is probably a better purchase).

I have had a M&P for a little over a year and have used the crap out of it. I did have to send it in for some work once and they just sent me a new one. The window breaker is the worst one i have ever used, and i do wish they had went wit a better steel. Howevor i have used this knife for EDC and it has held its own pretty well. Its not like one of Smith And Wessons $5 dollar knives that you see at the checkout line at autozone. It is a decent quality, worth it if you are a collector.

My old magic m&p is a nice knife, Taylor can actually put out decent products, if they just get someone that's somewhat sane behind the drawing board.

I am not going to knock the m&p knife you have. I bought a smith and wesson knife several years ago. I liked the size and weight and pretty much everything. Here is the catch, I could not keep it sharp. It just would not hold an edge it seemed to become dull from just being in my pocket. I hope what you say is true about it being a decent knife. I really liked mine other than the fact it would not hold an edge.
