Hi
The LUMINOX and TRASER (H3) watches were made by MB Microtec AG (Niederwangen, Switzerland).
MB Microtec AG is the manufacturer of the tritium light tubes. The company is manufacturing their own watches also under the TRASER brand.
MB supplies their tritium tubes & the watches also to Luminox in different styles and with the LUMINOX tag on the dial. MB supplies their lights also to some more watch manufacturers in the world. The company is also offering "private label" watches to their customers. If you would like to have your own watch for your unit or company - contact MB and they´ll help you. Usually you´ll need 50+ watches for a private label watch.
The Smith & Wesson watches (and also the UZI watches) are equipped with tritium lights from a company in Canada. The watches are equipped with RONDA quarz movements and are assembled overseas. This lights are not so bright as the Microtec (Traser) lights. They´ll glow 90-95% of the TRASER lights I think.
But in the daily use of the watches there is no REAL difference. You can read the S&W and Uzi watches as perfect as the Traser watches (yes, I own a lot of these different watches since several years).
The point for me is, that the S&W watches are much cheaper, good quality and they´ve also a bright & fine tritium illumination system.
For example:
You´re buying a Smith & Wesson Diver watch, you´ll get a black steel case, 200m water resistant + perfect illumination for around 200,00 € (here in Germany)
If you´re buying a equivalent TRASER (Modell Black Storm, black steel case, 200m water resistant) you´re paying 349,00 € !!
The UZI Protector watch is a real good buy for your bucks (around 99,00 € here in Germany, mostly cheaper if you´re looking a little bit around in the net...). This watch is 200m water resistant and has tritium tubes at 3,6,9,12 and on the hands (hour, minute). On the second-hand there is a luminova illumination.
Perfect watch for a VERY good price and at the moment the cheapest watch with tritium lights on the world market.
At the moment it looks to me as everyone is running for the watches with the blue tritium lights instead of the green ones. I don´t know why, because the blue lights are only 80% of the green light brightness. The green lights are the best to read in the darkness. So the blue ones are only "trendy".
If you´ve any further questions - please ask. I´ll try to help you.
M.
