I get a pretty good deal at work on Smith's products and I wanted to see if anyone could recommend which of their sharpening systems would be the best to go with.

I think learning how to use the Arkansas stone is the best way, but their standard kit is pretty good. Avoid pocket sharpeners, they don't work that well; they work, but they won't give you the best edge.

I picked up the Smith's 3in1 Arkansas stone set during black friday. After I got better at sharpening I picked up waterstones to use after taking a knife to the Smith's. Works pretty well for me. Although someday I hope to have an all waterstone setup....they are just so amazing!
