Thanks for the pictures Dave, I saw a few fellows there I recognize , Leroy Remer and Wild Bill Cody to mention a couple.

The BCCI really got it right! There was so much to do and see at SMKW The room for members was a great idea too..Munchies ,drinks, a place to sit away from the crowds and visit, member displays...Good job! Eight am is just to early for anything tho..If you have to drive to be there..Lots of door prises/giveaways too.All in all a great event done well!

Yes, I thought it was a good meeting. I met quite a few people, but I didn't really know who they were in this forum. "bucksway", I think I met you, Joe Houser was settting out some really neat knives and I asked him where the 112 with the 450 blade was. Joe said it was gone and you said, I have it, but I have another one at home and you handed it to me. Nice gesture, I appreciate it.

Here are some things I got out of the meeting.

1.) Everyone was nice, from the presenters, the workers for Buck, the members, people working there for the club. SMKW was nice, Kevin Pipes, the owner of SMKW was very gracious and nice. "300 Bucks" gave me a prize he won because he knew the answer about Buck knives, which of course, he should know. It was a nice gesture and everyone seem to go out of there way to be nice.

2.) I spent 4 days at SMKW and I didn't buy a knife from the store, even though they had a 10% discount on Bucks. I did spend a boat load of money on the knife swap on Thursday at the hotel though. The tables that were high, not much was sold. The table for Joe Houser and Larry Oden had good value and went quickly. Also, Gene Merrit, (spelling??) had some nice Yellowhores at good value as did Michael Prater with Painted Pony. I found the knife swap was really special for a Buck nut, even my wife and son bought knives. My wife bought a mid 80's 301 from Larry Oden and my son bought a Yellowhorse from Gene Merrit. My son who is part Cherokee, from my wife's side, found the talk from David Yellowhorse very special. My son bought a 110 with Native American symbols. I thought the $250 for the knife was a good value, I did help my son a little in buying the knife.

3.) I talked to the sales rep and he said, they will have special knives for Christmas. Dick's sporting goods will have a special 110 this year. I also asked if they will sell a Wal Mart tin and he said yes. I asked if it was going to be made in the USA and he said in a matter of fact kind of way, the Wal Mart tin will be from over seas.

4.) The place for the courses was quite small, I would say at the first dinner there were 200 people and the meeting room had 75 chairs. The chairs did not fill up, I guess a lot of members did not go to the meetings. The David Yellowhorse and the Custom knife meetings had the most people and all of the seats were full for those two.

5.) One last thing, I saw the Paradigm, I didn't like that knife. I also saw the Vantage with a wood handle, I did like that knife. The Paradigm was too gimmicky for me. CJ did show the new knives for 2011, I liked some of them and some I will just have to wait and see.

Overall, it was a great meeting, they had snacks and water for us and they gave us time after each meeting to talk or see the store. I now wonder if I should try to make the next meeting in Idaho in 2013???

What a great bunch of folks. Really had a good time. There is such a warm sense of community within this club.

Hats off to both John F and Larry O....and their families who always seemed to be there when heavy lifting was required.

It was also telling of our group that Smoky Mountain Knife works (Kevin Pipes) said we could come back whenever we wanted.
