SMKW has a finger grove model Ranger on sale for $35. Is this a good item and price? I have about 20 model 110s, but never had a Ranger. It is about 1" smaller overall, correct? Any comments on this deal as I am thinking of getting one?

It's about the same price as a 112 without fingergrooves anywhere else...Ira Woods shows the 112FG for $38.94...

Plus $7.49 S&H according to their chart...

They do not offer free shipping, but I was going to get a few items from them. What do you think of this model overall?

I have 4 or 5 of them; some with drop-point blade; some dual blades 110/112; at least two with clip-point...They're nice, but I prefer a 110...

The price is comparable to what I have paid for a "straight" 112...(no finger grooves)...

Go for it!!! :D

While you're there, order that Buck Bowie knife, too... ;)

I did exactly what you did, I got that knife along with a few Case knives that they happened to be 20% off. Plus "I had" to buy a few Bucks that were on clearance on the Buck site. I am hoping there won't be any sales for awhile, I have to pay for that $3.00 gas instead of more knives.

I think it is a decent price for a 112 grove handle. I have noticed that 112's don't go on sale as much as 110's. I got a 112 regular handle last year at Cabela's for $30. I think the 112 is a great compliment to the 110's and like you I have a lot of 110's but not the 112's.

You have 20 110's and don"t have a 112?  Amazing! :D :D
Depending on the shipping, I don't think thats a bad price for a FG.

My wife carried a 110 in her pack, until she discovered my hoard of 112's. Says it feels better to her. I still prefer the 110.

And, if you are looking for a particular year tang stamp, you better ask. Lots of those places still have new old stock. Last time I was at Gander Mt. they had bin fulls of new 110's. All 2003 year models. Had the date on the bar code on the clampak.

You can get the stastics on the 112 at www.buckknives.com

Thanks all for the info.....I think I will get it, along with a few others knives of course.....

I think the 112 FG is a great knife myself. I think it's a no brainer decision to get one.
