Hi all,

New here and new to collecting knives.

Recently purchased a Smock. Love the knife but the main pivot screw seems to keep working itself loose. Too much flicking!

Not A massive issue but it’s causing the blade to move off centre. Not sticking or rubbing.

A quick tighten and it’s all fine but I’d prefer not to have to keep doing that.

Was wondering about anyone else’s experience with this and the best easy fix?

Some thread locker maybe?

Thanks!

Wow Sal thanks for responding so quick. Really appreciate that.

forgive a novice but when you say proper setting do you mean letting the locktite set before opening the blade?

Congrats, one of my very favorite knives. I'd love to see some variations of this model, particularly in blade profile and in size. I'd frankly love a "super smock" of about 3.75" with a higher hollow grind (more primary grind).

Get the weakest locktite possible. Remove the pivot screw, a drop of locktite on the threads, reinstall. Adjust the pivot to where it needs to be/ where you want it. Leave it alone so the locktite can set.

By set, I mean the adjustment you prefer on the pivot before the lock tite sets.

Use Blue loctite. You have about 10’ to adjust to your liking and then let it sit (don’t touch) for 48 hours. Takes surprisingly long to set with SS screws.
