SMOG Warden sales question?

I am asking this question out of ignorance I guess so please bear with me. Why have so many forumites listed their SMOG Wardens for sale as sets and refused to break them apart? Did I miss something along the road somewhere?

Yeah the reason I ask this is selfish I guess. I have been looking for a serrated SMOG for some time now. I just don't understand the desire to keep them together. I mean, once they are sold the buyer can do what they want with them. One of my interests in life is WWI US military rifles. The Sprigfield 1903 and the US Model of 1917 (also known as: the P'17 or even the Enfield). If I am selling one and I know the buyer plans to sporterize it, I won't close the sale to him. These are too historically valuable and there are enough sporterized/butchered versions out there for these people to practice their craft on. We are talking about rifles here though.

I am not trying to insult anyone here, I just don't understand it. Can someone explain this to me. Enlighten me so to speak. Thank you ahead of time for clueing in this "clueless" old fart.

Maybe there is the worry that one will sell faster than the other and then they will be stuck with one they can't move. If priced right they should both move pretty easily. I have sold sets before, but it isn't as easy as breaking them up.

For me... I spent some time and went thru several of each to end up with a few sets that the handles matched up really well on. Also, this is the only SET of wardens from the whole production line... all the others are individual combos. And finally, they are the only ones that Boss Hog said would never be produced again, as they were a mil. overrun (hence Special Military Overrun Game Warden... SMOG!). Here's Jerry's original post for their release.

As a collector, when I sell any of my remaining SMOGgers, they will be as sets... and I will know I've done my part in creating a matched set and passing them on to the next person as such.

SMOG is the only GW model that introduce as a pair and I think that says a lot already.

It is ok that you are just in the market for one SMOG. Trust me on this one, once you hold a SMOG, you will want to hv a pair.

SMOGs have smoothest handle amoung all. They feel like good leather in your palm. Its amazing

gatorzingo and wuyeah, I know where you are coming from. I recently was able to purchase a PE SMOG from a forumite and I really like it compared to my other Wardens. Up until I got it the tan double cut was my favorite. I now only need the serrated edge to complete the set. You are right about the finish and feel too! Real niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!!!!!!!!!!! That's why I only want/need the serrated version.

i saved my smog as a user, its one of two users in my warden family, wait till you see their mother, a flat ground battle bitch cross dressed in smog clothing    :foot:
