Smoke and Prayers for Toronto terror victims.

Around 1:30 this afternoon a driver in a rental van mounted the sidewalk going south from Yonge and Finch to Yonge and Sheppard about 2 and a half km south. He drove down the sidewalk killing atleast 5 and injuring atleast 10.

All this happened quite close to my house and I found out about it when I went for a drive and the main road by my house (Yonge street) was blocked as far as I could see. I made a little map of the event.

I live very close to the N that points North in the bottom right of the map.

Smoke and prayers for the victims and their families please. I am sure we will mention them and pray for them at my synagog this weekend as well as today. Please send smoke and prayers up as well.

I was shocked to hear this, unfortunately the death toll is higher. I’m an hour away from Toronto. This is very sad news. Prayers for the people affected by this terrible tragedy.

My hope is that the families and friends of the victims come to understand that they are not alone in their grief following the terror of those moments yesterday. We are all with them. May those terrible images fade and may they find some peace over time as they are able. Loved ones are lost and injured ... a terrible, violent and sad day that will last lifetimes for so many. Our hearts hurt.
