My grandmother of 86 years passed away this Christmas Eve. She was a strong woman who taught me a lot, and helped raise me for several years as a kid.
She went peacefully, which is all we could wish for in the end, but she will be deeply missed. I saw people I hadn't seen in 20 years at the wake. It reminds you of what's important, seeing old family and friends. All her great- and grandchildren saw her before she passed.
One thing that being close with that generation taught me is that challenges are meant to be faced. The Depression, WW2 (all 10 great-uncles were in the war), and family tragedies- it makes our problems today seem small.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. It's sad to have people we hold dearly shed their mortal coil...happened to myself by losing my dad in October... Your grandmother sounds as if she were a real gem of a human being, and as she raised you, the bind is even stronger. I'm glad that she was a strong woman, unselfishly took on the "labor of love" to raise you, and passed on without much suffering. She led a rich and purposeful life, and you are now her heir to continue her legacy. Be strong, and keep the flame of her essence and Being burning brightly! She'll surely be rewarded for living her life as it should have been lived. With all my respects and support. :( Dan

Big billow of pure white smoke rolling over the ocean toward you, your family, and loved ones. Ask your fellow marines to come to your side at this time too. If you need any help, send me an e-mail.

It will be on its way this PM. Be glad for her, and be glad you got to share in her life.

I pray for strength of survivors and for peaceful journey for Grandmother. Stay strong. That's what I keep telling myself.

After many, many years I still miss my grandparents dearly!:(
Smoke will be sent with evening prayer work.

sent for you, Mr.BE. My grand- and great grands have been long gone, but they were very cool while here. Talking with them was like time travel.:(

She willl be fine--the walls between the living and the dead grow thin in this season, and the way is easy. You take care of you and yours, that is what she wants.:)

Incense lit and smoke on the way.

Does seem sometimes like with all the sorrows around, even a forest fire wouldn't be enough smoke!

Rusty is right: It seems that a lot of the HI forum members have been hit pretty hard toward the end of this year. The last third of it at least. Sure hope things improve pretty soon.

Will give smoke and prayers.
If you give me a name I will get a Mass dedicated to Her name.

God bless
