Our oldest cat, Molly is in pretty bad shape right now. I just posted a thread with details over in community.
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=6448908#post6448908 I know there's a lot of stuff going on with a lot of folks, but if you can spare a positive thought, a prayer or a wisp of smoke for her, we'd sure appreciate it. This old girl had had a pretty rough life up until she entered ours.

Smoke and prayer for the Molly Kitty.
She's a beautiful puddy tat.
You've done good with her and she knows she is loved.

Usually this is how the last days for an old cat start. Then they start not eating/drinking much,if at all and begin to lose weight. You can prolong her life a bit by consulting your vet and possibly giving her intravenious saline at home, but in our experience this just prolongs the inevitable and doesnt nessesarily mean a better quality of life.

17 years is alot of mileage for a feline (Our last two were 18 and 16 years respectively), be glad you found her and gave her the security, safety and love that you did and continue to. Cherish every moment you have with her and in the end prepare to ease her suffeing when little or no quality of life is there. Our cats have always told us by vocalisation and demeanor when they wanted to be at peace and could no longer bear the burden. They left this earth feeling all the love a human can give and went at peace.

Just do your best ,Mac, and love her til she chooses to go. Friendship and love is the best thing we can give and all they ever really ask of us is that we care. Don't be Discouraged...you've done well and molly is aware of it all. When the time comes there are plenty of lost pet souls on this earth who can benefit from Yourself and Kathy's Loving care and friendship.

It's nice that Molly got to spend however many of her nine lives she had left with you and Kathy Mac.  :D

Thanks guys. :)

We visited her this morning. She seems alright, but we really won't know how she's responding until Monday. I'm going to try to go see her again in a little bit, and we should be able to visit her briefly tomorrow afternoon. Thank you all again for your caring and support. You guys are the best.

Kitty smoke and positive energy from me and Holly. Our animal friends have always been important to us too. They give us love when the world is cold.

Very well written ...and true. When older cats begin to fade there is little you can do other than make the time you have special.
My Troubles lasted 20 years...I still shed a tear whenever I think of him.

Prayers and best wishes from the west coast.

Minew passed away at 16.5 years from kidney failier. She enjoyed life right up to the last moment. I kept her bed close to the litter box, but in the end she could not make it to her bed. She laid there on the floor, I went to stroke her, she let out one last breath and three meows and passed away in my arms. It was a difficult moment as I knew Minew did not want to leave this world that she loved, but it was her time on her terms.

She was a great mouser, and will be missed. Smoke sent to Molly and your family. Enjoy the time you have left together.

i love cats, and have enormous respect for people who rescue them and give them good homes. You did a great thing there, and I'm sure that her life has been grand ever since you found her.

Smoke and prayers sent to Molly and her wonderful caregivers
