Eric died peacefully in his sleep after a 2 year battle with Diabetes. It got him bad. Two amputations in 04, half the right foot , then 3 months later, just below the knee on the left. 2 months in the hospital total. Last 6 months, things started getting bad again. The in home Nurse found him yesterday afternoon.
They were getting ready to tell him that his other leg was going to come off...
We've been brothers since '75. He LOVED blades and their history. Deep into SCA and Ren Faires when he was younger. Became a small boat sailor in later years. A martial spirit and a Pagan heart, but a bit more poet than warrior. Physically, at one time, one of the strongest men I ever knew, Best man at both my weddings. I miss his conversations, and his hospitality. Eric turned 51, exactly one month ago.

Dying by pieces is frustrating. Be glad he lasted long enough for you to have known him.

That sucks, especially at 51. At least he is in a better place, but I offer my condolences to you and for those left behind,

He sounds like a good man, and with friends like you who loved him, a rich man. I'm sorry to hear of his passing, and sorry for your loss.

Prayers from Reno, may his soul be at peace.

Prayers from Atlanta bro. Sorry for your loss.

Thank you everyone. Although Eric was an unapologetic Luddite when it came to computers and the net, he would have loved the idea of offerings for him coming from around the world and our nation. Your kindness and consideration, I feel, does ease his road to peace.
Namaste,
Donald
