sorry if there is a Bark River section, i couldn't find it.
a year or so ago, a client sent me a Bark River Bravo 1 to have sheaths made and i was immediately impressed with the quality. i have sinse got is stuck in my head that i am in dire need of a Smoke Jumper.
this knife will see very little use in the wilderness, unless i suddenly find myself there without the ESEE's that i normally have handy. instead, it will be used for light utility, SD, and (honestly) to just make people go "DAMN!, that's a sweet piece"
i am still confused about a couple things, though. (1) when i look at pictures of it, with different handle options, the bolster seems to be a different color. in some photos, it looks silverish stainless steel colored just like the blade. in others, it seems to have a brass like yellow hue to it. is the bolster the same color, regardless of the handle option? and is it a silverish natural steel color? or is it brass like? (2) is it just the cutting edge that is convexed or is the entire grind convex? (3) how prone to corrosion is the untreated 50-100 steel used for the blade?
i appreciate input from all folks who have hands on experience with this piece or personally know someone who has one.
thank you
