At the age of 89 my Grandfather (Bud Loges) passed away at 10:50pm on Monday December 15th 2008 in Dayton OH. He was a great man and a loving person. I was raised with my twin brother (Mike Loges) by a single mother and my Grandfather help immensely when we were growing up. He read books to the kids at our kindergarden to help supplement the cost for my mother. He sponsored our little leauge team for several years when we were growing up. The list goes on and on...... I will miss him until I see him again and ask all of you for smoke and a prayer to help send this great man home. GOD bless all of you and make sure you show your love to all family and friends.

Thank you for the prayers and well wishes.

Smoke and prayers coming from the bay Area.

"To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded."

Thanks guys...
to make this more knife related...i found an old "magic magnet lock" slipjoint of his. he was never a knife person but he made foundry patterns for cities (manhole covers and the like) and ornimental cast furniture (i think there is some of his work at the White House) Anyway when i was a kid my brother and i would go with him in the summer and we would spend all day getting dirty and playing at the foundry. We would get dounuts and he would take out this old magnetic lock knife that was given to him by a supplier and cut the dounuts up for my brother and me. It was an old and kind of rusty knife with the "mother of toilet seat" handle that had the prining rubbed away. Anyway i found it today and held it in my hand and i kid you not when i tell you i could smell the fresh cut grass and my grandfather's laugh from summers far in the past. I miss him......
