I dont normally get into personal stuff on forums but i've been here awhile and consider some of you good friends. My grandfather has had congestive heart failure for a couple months now and he seemed to be getting much better for a bit. Recently, he's lost a LOT of weight and has moved back onto constant oxygen...its not looking very good. I'm hoping for the best and if you could please send some smoke and prayers for him, I would really appreciate it. Im very close with him and hate seeing him like this. Thanks in advance guys.

Positive thoughts from the Pleasant Valley for your Grandpa and the whole family.

Thank you everyone for the prayers and good wishes. Unfortunately, my grandfather passed away yesterday morning at 82 years old. He was admitted to the ICU on Monday after we brought him to the hospital Sunday evening- his illness escalated very quickly and unexpectedly. Thankfully, he went peacefully and was lucid until the very end. I will always miss spending time with him and listening to his stories. The things he did in his younger days would probably get him into serious trouble now- like goofing off in the Spanish air force and firing in the air to scare the crap out of a General. By far one of the funniest individuals I have ever known. The picture pretty much sums up his personality, just so you guys can get an idea. Even though he loved having fun, he was very respectful and kind hearted. I never once saw him get angry at anybody- never held any grudges against others and always saw the best in people. He was one of the greatest mentors and idols in my life and I can only hope to lead the rest of my life in a way that would make him proud.

I'm truly sorry to hear of your loss. I remember when my grandfather passed away and it was not a pleasant experience. I too had a close relationship with my grandpa and still miss him very much. I will always remember the funny way he had of describing things and the unique sayings he had. Even though the loss was difficult I am glad and feel fortunate that I got to spend so much time with him. Once again my condolences.
