hey guys I'm going to TN this weekend, I was wondering if any of you guys have ever been to smokie mnt knife works? I am planning on going there but if their knife selection is shabby I may pass.

SMKW is the biggest knife store I know of. You should see all of the Buck catalog knives except the 2009s which haven't been delivered yet. You will also see some collectible Bucks from over the years.

You can also drive into Gatlinberg and stop at the Acorn Annex and see a good selection of Buck knives. This store is right on the main drag on the left side of the street when going in the direction of the Smokey Mountain National Park.

Both stores might have some limited edition Buck knives from previous years still in stock.

the SMKW is a impressive place!
they had a tad fewer Bucks then i expected on my one visit there 5 or 6 years ago.
well worth a half a day stop!! (( all wife would let me be there!))
of course ya can not see it all real well in half a day..

Think department store that only sells knives, with a department for each manufacturer. Oh yeah, they also have a guy in there who you can watch make knives and if I remember correctly you can even go out back and help design/make your own knife.

Not a shabby selection at all.

Be sure and ask for Thelma...she is our star sales person there. and it is very much worth the trip. The knife museum upstairs is worth the trip all by itself.

It is LARGE!

For me, it's best to have a short list worked up of what I want to see/buy or else I get turned around and 20mins up the road I'm mad at myself for forgetting something!

May be a good suggestion if it's your first time there. Easy to get sidetracked.
