Over the years I've seen lots of posts/mention of Smoky Mountain Knife Works in TN, as they do have a great selection of knives, many are unaware that it is also a large knife museum with many displays and knives you may otherwise never see.

I've never really seen many pictures posted for those who have not been there themselves to see, and I've been meaning to post these for awhile now, so...

Follow the link provided to see 50+ pictures I took sometime just after they opened their new addition.

Enjoy...:)

WOW. Great pics Kdarmy!
JTC, when you go, allow several hours just to see the place! I've been twice since the new addition and still feel I haven't seen it all. Be sure to check out the Kelgin Knife Co-op out front in the little brick building. I think they close up for the winter, though I'm not sure on the dates.

Everybody knows they have the greatest knife store in the World, BUT, how about just showing us some pictures of the museum or retitle the thread "SMKW, a geat store"

Actually, I'm still looking for some of older pics to add which are mostly of the museum items (you can still see many of the items on the walls anywhere you look in the pics already up).

Wanted to bring to the attention to those who did not know, that SMKW is not just a store.

I don't know about greatest. They do have the largest. IMO New Grahams was a better quality selection, like a display case of sebbies .

Heck they don't even carry Benchmade. :(

I end up going once or twice a year since its on my way to my parents house. They opened an upstairs museum section with the remodeling. Much of the collection is still in display case along the walls. Sometime around Christmas they have a everything is 20% off sale in the store. If you buy then the prices are a bit closer to mail-order. TN sales tax is 10%, so plan for that in your budget.

It is definitely worth the trip and its not to far off the interstate so you don't have to go through Sieverville-hell to get there.
