Hey Everybody.......

I am leaving for the Smoky Mountain Knife Works Rep Weekend in the morning..........I will be hanging at the KaBar area when I am not bugging the ESSE folks or irritating innocent bystanders.....If you are in the neighborhood I would love to see ya........Lots of stuff going on.....

I'll be there after lunch Friday, all day Saturday and part of the day Sunday......Hope to see you !!!!.....

All Best......

Ethan

you should point out which case you'd like the Beckers to go into :) perhaps next to the ESEE stuff. Gerber can give up their case, right?

wish i could be there, but well, the drive ;) heck, even the flight... oiy. so far away. all the fun stuff is happening in TN lately.

Sigh, I didn't get to make it to SMKW before the gathering. I blame the woman. Enjoy!

SMKW is daunting at first, it's tough to figure out where everything is because the store is so large and the layout is not very intuitive. DerekH, Tradewater and I were texting each other whenever we found what someone was looking for in the store. They had the cool option however to continually get stuff and leave it reserved at the cashier location of your choice so you didn't have to carry everything around continuing to browse. I found their pricing on apparel was competitive whereas the pricing of their steel, not so much.

Came close to making it down there to Ethan......... had a fight with my first kidney stone...... wanted to cut it out with my Bk7..... headed down that way on first week of November....dang it

Well, I agree with ark, the prices at SMKW are not very good. But, on the other hand, I do like the way you have to leave the item at the register. Prevents you from having to carry 50 lbs in steel.

SMKW is machete heaven!
I know their other prices are higher than you can get things online but if you make it there - go get some $5.99 Tramotina machetes!
I bought 3 last time I was there (a week ago) - with some profiling & a nice convex - you can't beat the price for the chop ya get.

Too bad I can't make it there this weekend.

Ethan - don't let Jeff get too frisky with you!

The Bear Gryllis Parang outchopped everything except the Tramotina at the gathering.

The wonderful thing about kidney stones is: once you have them, you're prone to develop them the rest of your life! I had a battle with a 1.2cm stone in my left kidney and some smaller stones in my right kidney - right around the time of the first gathering.

You are a wealth of good news for me..... most painful thing I have been through.... lol

Hey Rivertamer......

Sorry I missed you and especially sorry the reason was the dreaded kidney stones and not a hot chick with designs on you........I have not had the "stone" experience but I have had some some friends who practically cry at the memories.......Manly men too.....Hope the thing is now long gone and just a painful memory........

Arkanian.....

Hope yours are now only a memory too.....BTW it was a real pleasure to meet you and I am glad you made the trip.....Think spring.....

All Best....

How did the weekend at SMKW go boss?

Arrived at SMKW at about 12:20 pm Sunday. Was enroute to the Becker booth when I saw Ethan moving through the crowd with another fellow. They were engrossed in conversation and obviously had a destination in mind . . . I had a couple questions for Ethan and started to interrupt his conversation but hesitated to do so . . . about that time Ethan and his friend stepped through a door labelled "Employees Only" or something similar, never to return. :(

I proceeded to the Becker booth where the very attractive lady showed me a BK2 and told me Ethan had gone to lunch and would return in about an hour.

Limited by other commitments, I was unable to wait for the return of Mr. E.

I know how disappointed he must be that he didn't get to meet me . . . :D

Was a beautiful day anyway and we got to visit Bass Pro enroute to SMKW so the day wasn't a total loss!
