Hi guys & girls,

Got my March 2003 Smoky Mountain Knife Works catalog in the mail yesterday...usual collection of garbage.

Which brings me to my question for you...surely SMKW must carry some quality stuff...why don't they put it in their catalogs? Or, is it that they only carry carnival prize grade cutlery??

(I did find a SOG X-42 Recondo, which I realize is not "traditional"...and some usable Hen&Rooster and Buck Creek slip joints...but MOST of it was as described above.)
 
Their web site is somewhat disjointed and it's not terribly easy to find what you're looking for. However, with some patience, you can find good knives there and some good deals too.
 
Well sometimes you can find some good knives for good prices, you just have to be patient. Like any store they sell, what sells, and unfortunately many people dont mind buying junk cutlery. Personally I'd rather save my 5.99 for something more useful, just me though. You also have to consider for most people they will not spend much on a knife to begin with, or have the money too.

The store is very nice though!!!!
