Recommendation? Smudge resistance on mirror finish blades

OK. I confess I have a touch of OCD when it comes to knives with a mirror finish on the blade and bolsters. I am kind of fanatical about not wanting to see smudges. I don't find an issue on all my satin blades though. I have used the following paste polishes applied by hand over the entire surface of the blade: Flitz, MAAS, Mother's Mag polish, Wenol, Simichrome, and a few others. None prevent smudges from easily showing. I can wipe off the smudges but was wondering if any some type of spray car wax would help.

Any ideas?

Yes, gloves.

My wife has this stuff called majeza for her glasses. She raves about it. Prevents smudges on the lens. Maybe try that? I don't have a full mirror polished anything at the moment or I'd test it for you.

Thanks man. Will look it up.

I have considered that but it would be too painful for me to not even touch them :)
I figured it was the easiest solution! I've heard good things about microfiber cloths. They tend to help remove smudges. Otherwise for simplicity I'd get some kind of thin gloves for handling the knives, maybe the purple kind used in labs, white cotton, or HDPE plastic food handling gloves. Prevention is easier than having to clean up every time.

Don't touch them

Sadly this is the truth. Mirror finishes look super pretty in photos, assuming you clean them first, but as soon as you handle them it's fingerprint city. If that's the kind of thing that drives you nuts, make sure not to get a glass backed phone (I had a Sony phone with a glass back years ago and the smudges drove me crazy).

Thanks very much everyone. I think in the future I will skip getting mirror finish blades. I love good looking knives but knives were meant to be carried (IMHO).
