Is there any way to remove smudges from anadized aluminum? It's from when I'm grabbing the knife out of my pocket with my thumb, I have tried Clp, and a light soap but nothing is returning it back to the plain matte finish. If this is normal please let me know. Protech has a rougher anodizing like sandpaper so I think this may be just normal.

Does anodizing wear off over time?

Ano does wear off, but it shouldn't be that quickly. My OTF's have minimal wear, a few small places.

You could try Windex, but don't be too rough. Maybe call Protec (or another manufacturer who uses aluminum like Microtech) if they have a helpline or chat function.

Yeah I was gonna try the windex, it's only at certain angles it's better when you have it at a different angle even. I did call protech they suggested flitz but I'm not so sure about that.

Most of the anodized finishes I have have are shiny, the protech is dulled to begin with almost like it grabs anything that touches it.
