Had to pick up a second 15 before they are gone

Local brick and mortar had it for 59.99 canadian....with our dollar at 75cents USA that is about as good as it gets, plus he charged me no taxes.
The next day the 15 was sold out permanently for him. Got lucky!

Now I can strip and patina the first one with a spare in the drawer!

Gonna have to pick up an extra 4 and 5 for the same reasons........BUT

Been really trying to not buy any more knives with the wife 4 months pregnant....so far this year it has only been an eland and a 15 which is very spartan for me.

Congrats on the new steel.

The justification for the 4 and 5 is simple - they're birthday presents for "the butcher jr".

When it comes time to cut the cord, you're going to want as many options as possible. You're buying more knives for your wife's sake. Show her how much you care.:D

Keep telling yourself it's an "investment". That's how I justify most things. Of course I rarely sell my "investments". I'm thinking I need to get a couple more 15's before they are gone. It would make an awesome Christmas present. Is this your first child? Congrats on the child and the 15. Get your sleep now. I've got two young boys and I have no idea where they get all their energy. It's a blast teaching them things though.

Yup its our first child Longhorn

I am the oldest of 5 kids and I can remember losing sleep on the youngest 2 growing up.

Gonna be an old dad, due date is 3 days after my 45 birthday!......at least the wife is a decade younger.

I was a bachelor until 39 yrs old! Doubt I will have a midlife crisis, pretty well got everything out of my system.

OH how I wish the 15 was choilless like the other tweeners(the 5 too), would have been even better by far IMOP.

As a former butcher and avid fisherman/outdoorsman choils on a knife just do not make sense at all. Holding a comfortable handle(safe) with the blade immediately after is better for carving and just about anything else to me.

Give me more blade but I still like the 5/15 a lot.

Congrats on the kiddo, and the knife! I too am late to the daddy game, my 2 yo boy was born when I was 45 and we have a baby girl coming in late sept. The patience is better, but the tiredness hits a little harder at this age. It's cool though, best thing I ever did and happy to be a daddy.

I just got a 15 and I'm seriously considering picking up another. It just seems perfect to me and their prices are so low.

Ethan has said the same. But Jerry insisted. ;)

The 5 and 15 are my favs.

Think how great it'll be when you hand ButcherJr his/her first BK and you tell them "I got that for you when you were born."

The 5 and the 15 are my favorites as well.

Since talk of being discontinued, I would suspect that sales of the 4, 5 and 15 have spiked.

I think I need to agree with the above. Kids Love the 5 as well ;)

Congrats on the coming little one

The 15 is my favorite food and game prep knife! So slicey! Always unexpectedly nice and smooth action

I saw that 15 deal and it sits on the back burner right now. Every time I get wood over another knife I seem to talk myself out of its merits because I already have several in the same category, and it seems hard to justify. It is fun to get a new toy now and then though.

I had my first when I turned thirty. I thought I was an old dad. All I know is it would have been easier if I was younger, but sometimes you just have to wait on the right one to come around. At least when we have kids at an older age we've gotten all the stupid things we do out of the way. When I met my wife I was going though what I called my nomadic period.
