...and I am happy as a pig in poo!

I know that many will go 'meh' at a two dot, but they are gold to me. That 440C blade and the sturdy frame do everything I ask of a knife and do it well. Finding a 2 dot 110 is like catching a fish, you are never 100% certain what you got until you reel it in. Anyway, here is the seller's pic below and I am thinking that one is a diamond in the rough.

Nice looking knife. Looks like she'll clean up great.

Here's a two dot that I snagged at a flea market that's nearly factory new with the sheath for $12 a few years back.

Hi A.P.F -

Congrats!

The two-dots are what I was carrying back when they were new.

I only have one now, a 112, but I am always looking!

Nice photos guys . I really like the 2 dots as well . A good handful, blocky frame, thick ebony, 440C blade with a handsome leather sheath . Whats not to like about it . Glad you got it APF. DM

Thanks for the great shots, guys. I love looking at 2 Dot pictures. Now if I can find a 2 Dot 112, I will be in 7th Heaven!

Thanks, David! It is ironic that in my right hand desk drawer I have 5 BG-42 CS knives, yet my user is 440C.:o

A.P.F., nice 110 2 dot you got there... I think we all like the no dots and two dots 110s and 112s... Well all of us that collect them and use them... ITE ...

Dave, that's a sweet .112. you got there... ITE ... :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks, ITE.

I've had this one for a LOOONG time, going back to the days when I didn't really know enough about these to fully appreciate what I had. This one got stashed away, because I was somewhat INEPT at trying to sharpen it (440C + inept sharpening newbie = one BIG MESS). What you don't see in the pic is the 'original' messed-up edge I had on it. Ugly & dull (:().

Fast-forward about 20 years or so. Now that I'm at least competent at sharpening, I've just recently started using my strop block (seen in the pics) with some sandpaper to convex the edges on a few knives, and this is one of the handful that I re-did. Finally put a good edge on it (Hooray! :D), was able to 'test' it by dismantling a few cardboard boxes. Went through 'em like a laser. I was thrilled. And it touches up super easy on the strop afterwards.

I LOVE this thing (now)!!!

Obviously defective. Send it to me immediately and I'll have a brand new one rushed to your door:D.

I think he's right !!

APF. I can identify with that thinking .

Dave, (Obsessed), When I saw your 112 in the first photo (nice shot) I thought, I'm going to write and ask him if the otherside ebony has more of a blonde color to it . Then I scrolled down to see your 2nd photo . HA ! Makes me feel like I've been around the block before with these models . DM ;)

David, I honestly wouldn't know if the dark/blonde thing is typical with these (this is the only example I currently own), but I'll take your word for it.

I like it this way, though. Both sides are very attractive in their own, very special way (like so many other brunettes & blondes). :D

Great shots, Dave! I have added them to my collection of Buck images, as that 112 is absolutely gorgeous.

Thanks!

This one is extra special to me now. Since I put my own new edge on it, after MANY years of not knowing how to do it properly, it sort of epitomizes my 'obsession-in-the-making', over the last 20 years or so.

Now, to find a 2-dot 110 to match it up with... :p

I know what you mean . I struggled thru the 60's & 70's with an edge just sharp enough to shave some arm hair . More in the 80's and in the late 90's began to hear about burrs . During the 2000's I've learned more about angles, stones, grits, stropping and burr removal . Now I'm putting it together with better edges . It only took me 45yrs. but I'm a fast learner and glad I stuck with it . DM ;)

Hehe...looks like we have the same 'schooling' David. :D
