Well, I do have a Dozier folder but I have been trying to decide which KA-BAR fixed blade to get for awhile. I went back and forth with the Cutless Machete, Grass Machete and the new MK1.

Snatched this one up on Ebay this morning and it looks like it will be a really nice knife. Now I just have to see where I can find the plastic sheath for it, as I do not like the sheath it is coming with. Not lefty friendly and missing the snap at the top.

Anyway, I am really happy with my choice. I'm sure this is going to be a nice addition. Anybody else have this knife and what are your thoughts on it?

Nice find, mate. I want one of those myself. I love the leather handles.

Get y'self one of Toooj's designs now. :D

Yep between this and the damn Beckers I am getting plenty of Toooj's designs. I like that leather stacked handle a lot, just not crazy about the sheath.

Congrats nice knife, got to love the fixed blades, form, feel, and lots of steel good luck

Thanks a lot I appreciate it. It has a classic style to me that just looks good. Looks like the handle might be a little big around but I'm sure I can work with it. I usually shy away from knives that are stick tang constructed but this looks like a pretty sturdy blade. You see so many of the other styles of Kabar up on the bay selling that are 50 years old so they must be doing something right. :)

A million Marines can't be wrong. Nuff sed.

So got the knife and really like it. Handles are kinda thick but I figured on that. Hate, hate, hate the sheath. It's missing the keeper strap (knew that) and is for right hand (I'm a lefty) carry. But none of that was a surprise when I bought it. Need to pick me up the molded plastic sheath.

Knife is very well made, sharp and fit and finish is great. This is my first KA-BAR fixed blade and if it represents how the rest of their knives are made ( I know the Beckers rock) then they are top notch in my books. On with the pics...

I just picked up my first Kabar as well. Full size USMC. It was new but was from 2001. It has the sharpened swedge. I hear they don't come that way now.

Digging that mark 1. Really going back and forth on which to buy. Got a pic in hand at all? I'm also looking at the classic Bowie but that Taiwan stamp is not sitting well with me. The mark 1 is USA made 1095cv correct?

Sweet knife. That one is definitely on my list.
Someone posted a while back as to a merchant who has the MK-1's with leather. Can't seem to find it.

I think someone just the sheath and it is used, although I have seen them come with a leather sheath as well as the plastic sheath. I will see about getting the plastic sheath for it.
