Went a fair bit less than I thought it would, only $66 plus shipping, seller claims it near mint.

How'd I do? It appears that $66 is a good price to pay, but now I'm wondering if I should put this one to its God-given purpose and put on a nice thin convex and get it to work. :)

Great knife. Good price too.
Wait till you get in your hand to decide what you'll do with it. It one big piece.
Let us know when you get it.

Does it have 1095 or s/s blades? The 1095 one's are a little more rare than the s/s.

The 858's go from anywhere between $45 to $100. I have 4 of them: 2 new and 2 almost new. If I can't get the new ones for under $65, I always let them go. There are always more to come around.

The 858 is an awesome knife - Large, beautiful, and over the top.

Well, it doesn't have the +, so I think it should be 1095. However, from a few posts here, it seems some SS blades went without the + marking. We'll see.

Just got it, and dang... this one is going straight in my pocket. :D

Strong snap, tight blades, great feel in my hands. This is getting a good thin edge and getting used!

Now to spot test and see if it's 1095...
